Autobiography

My name is Domotor Mayer, I was born in November 1984 in Budapest. I have been interested in photgraphy since I was 14 years old and it became more than a hobby, it is turned out to be my career through the years. After the initial self-education, I acquired the base and the technology of photograpy at the courses of Sandor Zsila and Attila Korbely. For a long time I only dealed with nature photography alone which remained the topic I love the most nowadays too. At the same time the more section of the photography I get acquinted with, the more opened I become to other genre. I take pictures of everything that surrounds me and I am impressed by.

Several of my photos appeared in Hungarian photograpy magazines, once I was „The month’s talented youth” and one of my work was shown in the Hungarian Nature Photographer of the Year competition. I’m the foundation member of the Fényvarázs Nature Photographer Club, furthermore I’am the member of the editorial group of the magazine called Foto Video. This way I am regularly testing cameras which can be found in the magazine and on the internet.

Most part of the photos on my website has been scanned from slidefilm, because a significant amount of my nature photos were made on it. Currently I work with digital technology, however I use film when taking black and white pictures. As the result of the testings shoots can be found taken by compact digital „soap dishes” and also pictures shot by professional DSLRs. At the moment I chose a KonicaMinolta 7D as my companion while taking pictures it is with me all the time. I consider very important that my photos are about the seized moments and not about digital afterworks.
